Mantle Heat shields
Occassionally where insert fires are installed into existing masonry fireplaces the mantle above the fire falls within the minimum distance heat exclusion zone. There are two options to protect the underside of the mantle
1. A deflector attached to the top of the fascia

2. A non combustible material spaced off the bottom underside of the mantle

Not so sure about a mantle deflector? Here is what our customer in Freemans Bay, Auckland commented"
"Good morning
How’s your week going?
Just to let you know that that the deflector is working well and I’ve grown to like the look of it ??
So I would like to keep it and not go ahead with the metal under the mantle please.
So thank you so so much for dropping it off - the fire is fab - and I won’t need any of Phil’s time.
Please let me know how much I owe you for the deflector and I will pop the money straight in your account
Big big thanks again for all your help and patience. I love my new fire!!
Take care
Cheers
Ali"
